Over the last decade of exploring yoga, meditation, holistic health, wellness, natural therapies and many modalities of healing (the weird and the wonderful) I’ve been blessed to have come across some truly special practitioners and communities.  Both individuals and groups who are doing amazing and important work in the community. As connections and heartfelt recommendations can often be hard to come by, particularly in a big city like Sydney, I wanted to create this space for my own personal recommendations, should anyone be in need or feel called to connect or explore further themselves.

Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine

Jade Clark - White Owl Clinic

Endlessly grateful for my dear friend Jade Clark for her ongoing love and care.  I was lucky to have been recommended to visit Jade when I first moved to Sydney and have been seeing her for regular acupuncture for almost a decade. If you’re looking for a very special. experienced, knowledgeable and caring practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, NET and Natural Therapies… friends, let this be your sign! I can’t bully enough people to go and see Jade.

Kinesiology

Kim O’Brien

Old school and incredible, Kim is based in Surry Hills and doesn’t have a website. I think her books are pretty full, but if you’re looking for a truly good kinesiologist, send me a note I can send you her phone number.

Zoe Bosco - Kinesiologist, Spiral & Quantum Healing, Doula,

I have to say I haven’t personally seen Zoe for Kinesiology as I have been working with Kim for many years - however if I had a dollar for every time someone personally recommended Zoe, or said Zoe has helped support them through some of the most radical life shifts, blocks and moments,..I’d be rich :). I have had the pleasure of meeting Zoe a few times and I feel that every lovely thing I’ve heard about Zoe to be true.

Rosetta Cozzo - Anahata Therapies

Rosetta is talented, spirited, kind, warm, nurturing and sparkly! Rosetta’s work incorporates elements of bodywork, shiatsu massage and various modalities in healing and she hold’s a sacred, supportive and nurturing space for those who are called to see her.

Yoga & Music Therapy

Non Profit Organisation - A Sound Life

A Sound Life (ASL) is a non profit organisation very close to my heart and one that I’m extremely passionate about.  Established in 2013 by two amazing individuals and very dear friends Edo and Jo Kahn, A Sound Life brings free music, yoga and meditation sessions to people facing hardships and communities in need.

Servicing a range of hospitals, healthcare, aged care, disability, rehabilitation, refuge and youth facilities, ASL brings free music, yoga and meditation sessions to people facing hardships and communities in need.

My involvement with A Sound Life began when I started teaching yoga at Westmead Children’s Hospital for a therapeutic yoga program for adolescents living with Eating Disorders.   Both professional and personally, being involved in this program was a powerful and humbling learning experience for me and one that really opened my eyes to the impact that yoga and meditation can play in the comprehensive process of healing and self-empowerment.

Over time I became more involved with A Sound Life, volunteering on a weekly basis sharing yoga with a variety of different groups of people – from a beautiful and inspiration group of young women living in a small women’s refuge, to a remarkable group of individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, to adolescents living with mental health disorders.   No matter what the session is, I’m constantly reminded of the benefits that giving from the heart and service to others has.  And not just for those receiving the yoga – it’s during our weekly sessions with these groups that I walk away with a new understanding and heartfelt experience of perspective, gratitude and  purpose.

If you’re interested in finding out more about ASL and ways you can become involved (regardless of whether you’re a practitioner or teacher of music, yoga or meditation… there are always ways you can contribute) please visit their site here.
